PRODUCTION VISIONS - 2017-18

Level 1: Summer

Quality" 30 minute production for up to 60 students, ages 4-14 (limit of ten, ages 4-6).  Primary goal is to provide a positive first-time theater experience for cast and their families within a consistent rehearsal schedule.  Focus on basic skill development.

  • All registered students will be cast members
  • Workshop - Sunday before camp begins to ensure comfort
  • Rehearsals - 4 hours a day for 2 weeks
  • *Quality defined as simplified:
    • Simplified performance, set, props, costumes
    • Tickets - $6
  • Production Team Leads - open to students (ages 15-17) and adults (as Lead or Mentor); priority given to responsible, experienced students who may help choose their adult Mentor

  • Jr. Production Team - open to ages 12+ who will not appear in cast

Level 2: Fall and Spring

High quality* 60-90 minute production for up to 60 students, ages 6-18 (actual cast and age range set by each Director).  Primary goal is to expose students to multiple artistic and technical elements of theater production within a flexible rehearsal schedule.  Focus on expanding skill development.

  • Workshop - 2 weeks prior to Auditions to encourage proper preparation
  • Auditions determine cast members
  • Rehearsals - 4-8 hours/week for 10-12 weeks
  • *High quality defined as:
    • Extensive Performance, set, tech, costumes
    • Tickets - $12
  • Production Team - experienced adults
  • Jr. Production Team - open to ages 14+ who may/may not appear in cast

Level 3: JTF Performing Team

Top quality" team-focused experience for at least 20 experienced students, ages 10-18, to attend national festival.  Primary goal is personal growth and enrichment while developing 15-minute, team-focused "mini musical" showcase for a competitive national environment with adjudication by performing arts professionals.

  • Workshop - 2 weeks prior to Auditions to encourage proper preparation
  • Auditions determine team members
  • Rehearsals - pre-determined: mostly Sunday evenings beginning in October; heaviest in Dec & early Jan
  • *Top quality defined as:
    • Polished, condensed storyline with strong acting, vocals and movement
    • Showcase moments for each performing team member
  • Production Team - experienced adults with priority given to those who have completed:  Level 2 directing team member, NYC summer workshops or previously attended JTF 
  • Jr. Production Team - open to ages 15+ who may appear in cast
