Intro to Broadway Music

Service Description

Designed for students ages 9-12, this course will help students choose age appropriate showtunes and prepare for their next audition. Students will discover their vocal range, learn how to choose songs for their voice type, and polish a piece of music with the help of our supportive teaching artists. We'll cover everything from picking music, learning how to practice like a pro, to the importance of being a supportive audience member. Participants will leave this class with personal feedback as well as multiple song options for their next audition! This class is: - Is open to students ages 9-12 - Is held on Saturday afternoons for four weeks, April 19-May 17th - Meets from 1:15-2:15 pm - Is instructed by: Karter Mueller and Ash Stokes Parents who are willing to supervise the lobby during this class may be eligible for a discount on enrollment -- if you are interested, please email education@treehousetheater.com before enrolling. Karter Mueller is a seasoned theater professional with over 20 shows under his belt. His experience spans various aspects of production, from onstage performances in community theater to behind-the-scenes work. Karter's musical background includes playing in pit orchestras since middle school, and he has collaborated with music directors and pit directors on numerous productions. Additionally, Karter works in the public school system, where he has experience with children aged 5-16. Asher Stokes, a Treehouse Theater alum, brings extensive experience from over 40 productions, spanning his childhood and adult years. He has served in various leadership roles, including assistant directing, directing, and assistant choral directing for numerous children's and young adult musicals. Asher also works in public elementary schools, giving him significant experience with children aged 5-15. *Scholarships are available! Please email education@treehousetheater.com before registering.*
