Advanced Acting, the Meisner Approach #2

Prerequisite: Meisner Session 1

  • Started Apr 30
  • 100 US dollars
  • 910 Washington Street, Manitowoc, WI

Service Description

For students who have completed the first Meisner course, we are excited to continue our study of the craft of acting. This advanced acting class will continue to build on the skills learned in the first session. Taught by Chris Andacht with help from Erin Nycz, this class will meet Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons for 2.5 hours at a time. In advance of each class, reading and note taking will be required for class participation. Additionally, as each class builds upon the previous session, all absences will need to be coordinated with Erin in advance. *Our class on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend will likely be rescheduled; we will find a make up time that works for the majority, and offer additional make up opportunities as needed.* Chris Andacht brings over 20 years of theater direction and actor training, and we are thrilled to be able to offer his expertise to our students who are serious about acting. Many of Chris's students have gone on to work professionally and he cites the Meisner approach as the backbone of his actor's success. Erin Nycz, Treehouse Education director and arts professional, knows firsthand how effective this approach is as she used portions of this method in her own education, and is excited to dive back into the deep end of acting work alongside Chris. Finally, we will provide source material that needs to be picked up in advance of the first class. Specific instructions for pick up and required reading will be sent upon enrollment. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, as this is a new program for Treehouse! Scholarship funds are available upon request.
